History of Ten Hill Place Hotel

Ten Hill Place Hotel is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was opened in November 2006.  It was created from the combination of an existing Georgian building,  previously the Postgraduate Residence of the College, with a stylish yet sympathetic new development.

The quality of the original building is reaffirmed throughout the hotel’s interior, with a modern elegance appropriate to each space. This has resulted in a unique Hotel based in a quiet Georgian Square, Hill Square, which provides a peaceful location in the City Centre, but still within walking distance of all the main attractions.

The Hotel is used by many surgeons visiting the College, but also welcomes leisure travellers from all corners of the globe. Edinburgh is known as the City of Medicine and if interested in the history of surgery, medical walking tours can be arranged and discounted tickets to Surgeons’ Hall Museums can be booked through Reception.  A private tour of the Museums, which houses one of the largest anatomical collections in the United Kingdom, is available every Wednesday afternoon.

Ten Hill Place has recently been upgraded to a Four Star Metro Hotel and we pride ourselves in living up to this standard in the service and quality we provide.
